I seriously thought about ditching the whole thing and going back home. ![]() But she left for school clinging to my leg, screaming “No airplane mommy!” I cried twice at LAX like a crazy person when I saw a mom and toddler traveling together. It was my first trip without my two-year-old. But the images coming out of Vegas were too tragic to feel better. I thought I would feel better when the world learned that the shooter wasn’t Muslim. My third (selfish) concern was that the shooter was Muslim…and I, a brown person, would be flying a few hours later. My first fear was that the killer(s) were still on the loose. We all woke up on Monday morning with the horrifying news about Vegas. It was quite eventful, and I want to share the details with you - my inner circle of advisors. What a whirlwind two days in the Bay Area. After my presentation, I sent the email below to a small circle of friends. I had a great night, but it wasn’t all amazing.
